Panorama Balloon Ride

The balloon ride was an indescribable experience for me. I was fascinated by the silence and the slow journey; away from the speed and haste of everyday life.
A big compliment to the pilot for his "butter-soft landing".

We booked a flight via Zurich, but were then told to go to Wangen an der Aare, where we were picked up. We thought that we would then fly towards Zurich, but we flew towards the Alps to Fribourg. Nobody explained to us where we were going and what was going to happen. It was very nice, but just not what we had ordered. The pilot was very nice, but he didn't say anything during the whole trip unless we asked. It would have been nice if he had explained something to us about what was happening, what to look out for, the mountains, etc. He also never asked if we were OK. It could have been that someone was scared in the small basket. We were also not told how big the basket was. I was expecting a bigger one... The day was great and the landing was perfect, except that it was a very long day with a lot of driving and we didn't really want that, which is why we booked the flight via Zurich.

Flightbase comment:
Thank you very much for your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed the balloon flight. The balloon launch location is very much dependent on the current wind and weather conditions. It is therefore not always possible to choose the exact launch location. In such a case, the pilot will suggest an alternative, which you do not necessarily have to accept. The direction in which the balloon flies is determined by the wind, as we do not have a motor. It is therefore not possible to fly in a specific direction. However, this also makes every balloon ride individual and exciting. Most customers appreciate enjoying an exclusive balloon ride in a small basket with just a few people. So for most people this would have been a plus. We are sorry that you preferred to be in the basket with several people, which we were not aware of.

Marcel gave us a wonderful experience. After we had to abort the first balloon flight due to changeable weather conditions after an hour in the beautiful evening atmosphere, but with too little wind, we were able to enjoy the repeat flight all the more. The flight was very varied, sometimes just above the treetops, sometimes high in the air and even with a gentle ditching on the Thur. We were also familiarized with the technical basics of ballooning. We were allowed to operate the burners ourselves and monitor the altitude meter in order to stay at the desired height. Marcel is an extremely careful balloonist and we felt very safe with him at all times.
Thank you very much, we would love to come back!

Meeting point; 06.30 Bh. Wimmis, drive to Zweisimmen,
unload and prepare for take-off. An experience in itself.
After the balloon envelope had warmed up sufficiently,
we took off from the ground at around 07.50 am. Slowly we climbed to
altitudes of 2300-2500 m. above sea level, picking up speed at between 24-25 kmh. towards Lake Thun.
The panorama of the snow-covered mountains was a fantastic experience for me. A good 2 hours later, Manfred, our pilot, set the basket on the ground near
Thierachern. After packing up
and loading, we were treated to an aperitif.
For me, it was a beautiful and eventful balloon flight.

We took a hot-air balloon ride from Lake Thun to Saanenland in glorious weather. It was an unforgettable experience. Our pilot, Manfred, flew us safely and competently to Chateau e dox.
